Guide

Lay a story out on one canvas

Notes and tags, relationships, chapters and plot, and events. Press through the Pride and Prejudice canvas and learn them one at a time.

  1. 1Notes

Every piece of the story is a note

Characters, places, the rules of the world and clues each get a note. Every note gathers in the top row, and each chapter holds again the notes that appear in it.

  2. 2Tags

    Sort by tag

Five tags come built in — character, place, rule, clue, event — and you can add your own. Tap a tag and only its notes light up.

    Tap the character tag
  3. 3Relationships

    Named lines between characters

Tap a character and lines run to the people they are tied to, each named — sisters, rivals. A name can differ from chapter to chapter, so you see how two people change.

    Tap another character
  4. 4Chapters and plot

    A plot for every chapter

Line up the events in each chapter to make its plot. The work's larger plot is the flow of its chapters.

  5. 5Events

Tap an event to see the scene

The small circles on an event are the people and places in that scene. Tap it and only the notes tied to it stay; the rest fade.

    Tap another event
  6. 6Drag and drop

    Drop it, and it connects

What it means depends on what you drop where. Order, relationships and where a note belongs all change with one drop.

On a phone, hold a card for a moment to pick it up. Drag it to the edge and the canvas scrolls with you.
